Monday Memories

Today was such a relaxing day!

Brad woke up with the kids and i got to sleep in until 10:30!!! We played around the house all afternoon and this evening we went out to my parents house to visit. We haven't been able to go out there in a couple weeks because of my grandpa being in the hospital, but he got to come home this weekend. Everything is looking alittle better for him. At least for now.

Caiden loves going out there. They have a 2 acre yard, a swing set, trampoline and a 4-wheeler. Brad and Caiden went on a 4-wheeler ride while me, hailey and grandma played outside and hailey walked around in her walker.

When we got home this evening we cooked out on the grill and Caiden rode his bike in the back alley for awhile. He was exhausted by bedtime. He fell asleep within like 3 minutes. Thats when I knew he had had a fun day!

Zoo

Every summer we get a membership to the zoo. The closest one to us is about 45 minutes away.

We started doing this when caiden was 2 years old and he absolutely loved it! His favorite thing then used to be the birds. Go figure you take your child to the zoo to see all kinds of animals and all they want to do is stay in the bird building, if we wanted to watch birds we could go outback at our house and do that:)

He loved playing in the ostrich egg that was in the end of the bird museum. This summer we are going to get another pass. This will be the first time Hailey will go. We hope that she will enjoy it as much as her brother did. This is a fun family thing that we can all do together for a reasonable price. The pass lasts for a whole year and includes parking and other discounts throughout the zoo and at other zoo's. It is only 65.00 for a family. That really isn't alot when you look at the admission for one day. For our family to go once it would be about 30.oo. If you are interested in buying a pass for your family go to www.toledozoo.com or whatever zoo is closest to you for their rates. Your children will love it!

Teething!

Hailey is teething so bad right now. She is getting her 2nd front tooth in and she is not happy about it :(

She now will have 5 teeth total. 2 on the bottom and 3 on top. She isn't a very good teether. She usually runs a pretty high temp, has diarrhea and is up at all hours of the night wanting to nurse. I have been giving her Tylenol and Motrin but i don't know what else to do or to give her to make her feel better. if anyone has any good remedies that they use please let me know.

She's growing up too fast, no more toothless grin! She finally opened her mouth enough for me to get these pictures!!!

Caiden was much better at cutting teeth (that's why I'm not really sure what all to do for her)

He got all of his pretty quick. I wouldn't even know he was getting another one until it would pop through. By his 1st birthday he had 12 teeth! Here's a picture of him when he was Hailey's age (9 months) with 8 teeth.

They grow up so fast!!!

Father of the week!!!

My husband is Great!!!

He has always been there for me whenever i've needed him. I have had alot going on in my life lately and he has really stepped up and done everything for me.

The last couple days i have been sick and i've also lost my voice. Well yesterday (i was so sick i could hardley stand up) he let me take a 2 hour nap while he played outside with the kids then he cooked dinner, woke me up to come down and eat (and feed Hailey) and then took the kids to his parents for the rest of the evening! It was just what i needed and i didn't even have to ask him to do it for me, he just did it on his own. He even gave the kids there baths.

The kids always have so much fun playing with him because he gets down on the floor and wrestles and just plays like he's there age!!! (which is a good thing but can also be so loud)

He took some pictures of him and Caiden making faces, he's probably not gonna like that i put this on here but i thought it was cute. This was there suprise face!!

He has a much more gentle approach when it come to playing with Hailey.

So i just want to say how thankful i am to have such a great husband and father.

My Grandpa

I haven't had much time to write on here lately because we have had lot going on here.

My grandpa has been in and out of the hospital now for about 2 months. Sometimes are more serious than others, but i guess we never knew how serious. The doctors just informed us on Sunday that he is now in the final stages of emphysema. We have all known that he was sick but it's just hard to hear someone tell you that he may only have up to 2 more weeks. My grandpa smoked for about 40 years and your body can only take so much. But inspite of everything he is still himself. Singing to the nurses, making jokes, everything he normally does.

He looks very good on most days. I took the kids to the hospital to see him on sunday, he kept asking me when i was gonna bring them in. I just pray that he'll make it through this and that he has more time than the doctor are telling us, but my grandpa says that he's not afraid because he knows the good lord will be waiting for him when it's his time.

ALL BOY!!!

My little boy is definately ALL BOY!

Everyday in our home is filled with us having super powers- super strength, flying, shooting fire or ice basically anything super hero's do.
I never knew how much of an imagination little boys have when it comes to this kind of stuff. It's so cute.

Today we were playing that we were pirates that could fly. He made me and Hailey play along (and dress the part.)

Although i'm still learning what powers belong to what hero, we have so much fun!

Boys introduce us to a whole different world that us girls never knew exsisted. All we know of is dolls, playing house and who gets to be the princess.

I love spending time with my son and his imagination and i will truley miss it when he grows out of this stage in life.

Journals

I found the cutest thing on line this morning. It's a retro journal called Happy Birthday to Me. It lets you record the events from your child's birthday from ages 1-12. You fill in details like guests, gifts, activities and even the party outfit. It also has pockets to hold the invitations, pictures and cards from each celebration. I don't know about everyone else but there just seems to never be enough room in baby books to write all that you want and to put in all the party pictures.

Haileys first birthday is coming up this summer and i thought this was a good way to capture every moment of it. You can get one for yourself at http://warmbiscuit.com/birthdaybook.html they are only $17.00.

I found another one too that i think I'm going to get for Caiden. Its called School Years Book. It's a keepsake album for recording school memories and accomplishments. Both parent and child can fill each expandable pocket- theres one for every year from kindergarden to 12th grade- with photos, report cards, art projects and other mementos.

I have so many items already that Caiden has made from school that are just laying around in folders or that are hanging on our fridge(but they can't stay there forever) with this i can put them all in here and keep them organized.

You can get one at http://warmbiscuit.com/scyebo.html
They cost 26.00 and you can get them in different colors and varieties

Finally Sleeping!!

So i probably shouldn't be saying this out loud but both of my children have finally started sleeping through the night- IN THERE OWN BEDS!!!

Caiden has always been on and off with his sleeping, some nights he does good others he's in my room 3 and 4 times. Part of this is my own fault though. He is only 4 years old and has moved 4 times. That is alot for a child to deal with plus right after we moved this last time he got a new sister, making it even more difficult for him to adjust. He used to sleep in his own bed in our bedroom for about 2 years which worked out great for awhile, everyone got to sleep, but when we found out i was pregnant the thought of two children sleeping in our room didn't sound too appealing! So now 9 months after his sister arrived and after 1 year of living here, he is sleeping all night in his room =)

Hailey slept on the couch with me for about the first 4 months ( it was the only way so slept good and i was so exhausted, i didn't care where i slept as long as my eyes where closed) We finally put her in her own room and she would sleep about half the night in there and the other half with me. Well this past week she has been doing so good. Out of 7 days she has slept 5 all night! Some mornings i almost don't believe it and rush into her room to make sure she's okay. It's been especially hard with her because i strictly nurse her so my husband can't get up with her. Most mornings i need at least one cup of coffee to function normal=)

I really can't believe how much energy a full nights sleep can give you. Hopefully both of my children stay on this schedule and don't fall back into there old ways!!!

Monday Memories

Today i took the kids to the park to play. The weather was actually pretty nice, for the first time in about 2 weeks! Hailey fell asleep the whole time we were there so it gave me a little time to play with just Caiden. There was a huge hill that he kept rolling and running down.

There was another little boy there, probably about 10 or so who was playing with us and when i play at the park, i play like I'm the kids age. I go up and down the slides, chase them around and swing, but anyways this kid looked at me and asked if i was Caidens mom. After i told him i was he goes i didn't think moms could play on the playground. I asked him where he had heard that and he told me that he just never sees moms playing.

I thought that that was kinda sad to hear a little kid say. That just shows how many parents don't get out there and actually play with there kids.

After we got home Caiden helped Brad cook out on the grill. That is one of his favorite things to do when its nice out. Hailey was helping too=)

He Got A Stike!!!

Brad and i took Caiden bowling this weekend. We've been wanting to take him for awhile but never knew if he was old enough yet.

He actually did really good for his first time. The ball was a little heavy for him and he sometimes had trouble rolling it fast enough but on his first game he got a strike! We couldn't believe it.

He bowled an 87, which i think is pretty good for a 4 year old (seeing how i only bowled 124 and that was with the bumper lanes!)

He had so much fun and so did we. I know that it's not something that too many people think to take there little ones to do but I definitely recommend taking your child bowling but wait until there at least 4 or 5 and also make sure that you call ahead of time and find out if they have bumper lanes (a must) and to make sure that they are not too busy. We went in the afternoon and we were the only ones in the whole bowling alley. I think it was nicer just being able to teach Caiden without a whole bunch of people around.

9 Months Old!!!

My little angel is 9 months old today! Looking back i don't know where the time has went. I can still remember holding her for the first time in the hospital and just thinking how small and fragile she was. This photo was taken on the day we left the hospital (she doesn't look too happy to be having her picture taken=)

She has changed so much. Her look, her personality, everything. She is so much like her daddy. When she gets her mind set on something, nothing or no one can stop her. She has turned into my beautiful little baby girl.

I read the cutest thing the other day...

"The way you smile when i walk into the room, the way you strecth out your little arms to be lifted up, the way your so sure of me, sure that i'll be there for you, that i'll take care of you...This bond is stronger, more loving that i could have ever expected."

Here is Hailey's picture now at 9 months old. Her personality really comes out through her pictures!!

She is starting to crawl now and is just getting into EVERYTHING! but with each new stage that children go through there' just that much more to love about them!

My First Blog-All about me and my family!

I have some friends who do this all the time and i like to stay updated with them and i think that it is just so interesting to read and see everything they do in there day to day lives so.... i thought i'd give it a try.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a 23 year old stay at home mother of 2 beautiful children, Caiden who is 4 years old and Hailey who is 8 months old and i have a wonderful husband Brad who is 24.

Brad and i have been married now for 1 year and 1 month. We met back in high school and we worked together after we graduated. I knew long before we even started dating that he was the one for me.

We live in ohio, in the same town we have lived in our whole lives. Its small but comfortable, especially with the kids. Small towns usually mean less violence and less to worry about.

Well thats all i can do for now i usually only get so much time before the kids have noticed i sneeked away :-)
