Date night

This date night didn't involve me though, it was a Hailey and Daddy's date night:)

When Hailey was alittle younger her and brad would do a date night about once a month, with our schedules getting busier with sports and Brads work schedule always changing they really haven't had many chances to keep up with them. But Hailey loves this time with her daddy and still talks about them.  So we are going to be making time each month and having a day where they go out together and me and Caiden will be able to go out together too. They have "their" restaurant...Arby's which is hays favorite and then usually they do a movie or shopping just something they can both do together.
This past Friday Brad took her to her first build a bear workshop and then took her shopping for her Easter dress, I gotta say i think I'm pretty lucky because most dads wont do the holiday clothes shopping or spend 2 hours in a store picking out the perfect outfit for a new teddy bear named princess Lexie:) or spend another hour in the fitting room finding a dress for her that matches princess Lexies lol... i really hope these are memories that Hailey will remember with her dad for always, she's a lucky little girl too:)

Hopefully throughout the years the dates nights are something that never go away, this time is so important, a time for him to be just one on one with his daughter, to let her know that she can always confide in him and that no matter how busy the schedule gets he will always make time for her because as girls get older it's much harder to talk with your dad because you think he just wont understand the way a mom does, but I hope that by keeping this close relationship she will know that he is always there for her and  he will always make time for her no matter what.

Spring in finally here:)

I am one of the few people who doesn't mind the change in weather that we get here in Ohio, yes i do complain when it gets too hot or too cold but for the most part i  love the change of seasons. I love the snow (not necessarily how cold it gets or that the roads get icy) but i love taking the kids out to play in it, building snowmen and sledding. But after so many months of cold weather I'm ready for spring. We can open the windows and play outside again without bundling up. Today was one of the first really nice days, we couldn't believe how warm it got so quick. We took the kids to the reservoir in norwalk and all wore shorts and tee shirt in March!
We've been taking the kids to the reservoir since caiden was 2, they have 3 different parks that you can walk to and the kids love throwing rocks in the water. It's a good way to get in some exercise without the kids even knowing it:)

Playing king of the hill... looks like Caiden might have him:)

Don't even know what to say for this...lol

Hailey can swing all by herself!

State Placer!!!:)

What a weekend of wrestling we had!
This weekend was the OAC state wrestling tournament. This is Caidens 3rd year wrestling and his 2nd time making it to state. We got a hotel for the weekend and stayed with the rest of the team, went out to eat the first night down there to Quaker stake and Lube, the kids had a blast! All our wrestlers got up in front of everyone for Karaoke night and sang  and danced for hours. I love that these boys can be soo good at the sport that they love but also know how to still have fun with each other and not let their nerves get the best of them. They all got to sleep in the next morning and didn't have to be to the tournament until noon.

Caiden had to start the day off with a really good, tough kid who has already beat him once this year but he still gave it his all and fought to the end but ended up losing. (This kid he started the tournament with ended up winning it all with 1st place) He had one more match for the day to see if he would stay or go home and he won so we made it to day #2:)
Because of his loss in the first match he had to win his next 3 matches to place then from there he had to wrestle to see what his placement would be. Not only did he win his next 3 matches he pinned all three kids in them...

knowing that he had for sure placed at state took alittle of the edge off and we could relax and breathe alittle more now...at least I could....Brad was another story lol.
He ended up losing his next placement match and got 8th place for the weekend. We are soo soo proud of him and all his determination this year. He placed 8th out of every kid his age and his weight in all of Ohio. Hundreds of kids go to districts, then from there only 4 from each district make it to state and from those 20-30 at state he was a placer! Caiden is such a fighter, as we are standing there getting his picture taken on the podium he looks at me and says...I'm so happy I placed but next year, I'm gonna be higher up on this podium<3 p="p">

8th place!
