A Last Time for Everything

I saw this today and it completely made me stop everything I was doing and pretty much breakdown.  I am, for the most part, a very strong person, it takes alot to get me worked up. But reading this really hit home. So many of these things have already been a last time thing for me and my children.
I remember the up all nights and the night time feedings and at the time I was exhausted from it but now looking back, what I would give to have that moment of feeding your baby and them just starring up at you like you are the only person they need in the world. Rocking and singing them to sleep knowing that your voice was the one they waited for to be able to drift off to sleep...those days are over for me.
I remember both my children always wanting to be held, to be in my arms, and to be honest I think I held both of them much longer than I should've, but they were my babies I didn't want to give that up...those days are over for me.
Our song for both kids was "you are my sunshine" they both loved it and we always did the hand motions to it. Hailey used to want me or Brad to sing it to her while rubbing her arm before bed each night. It has been a long time since she has asked for that and even longer since Caiden has...those days are over for me.
It does make me happy to see though that even at Caidens age of 11 1/2, he still holds my hand when we walk, not in the way that he needs my help or my guidance but more in the way of just wanting to be near me. Hailey is the same, no matter where we are walking at, one or sometimes both of them grab my hand
I do like knowing that my kids are independent and can do things on their own but its nice to still feel needed also. They both at times still wander into my room to cuddle, Hailey more than Caiden and I will always allow it because who knows when that next time will be the last.

From the moment you hold your baby in your arms you will never be the same
You might long for the person you were before
When you had freedom and time
And nothing in particular to worry about
You will know tiredness like you never knew it before
And days will run into days that are exactly the same
Full of feedings and burping
Nappy changes and crying
Whining and fighting
Naps or a lack of naps
It might seem like a never-ending cycle
But don’t forget….
There is a last time for everything
There will come a time when you will feed your baby for the very last time
They will fall asleep on you after a long day
And it will be the last time you ever hold your sleeping child
One day you will carry them on your hip then set them down
And never pick them up that way again
You will scrub their hair in the bath one night
And from that day on they will want to bathe alone
They will hold your hand to cross the road
Then never reach for it again
They will creep into your room at midnight for cuddles
And it will be the last night you ever wake to this
One afternoon you will sing “the wheels on the bus” and do all the actions
Then never sing them that song again
They will kiss you goodbye at the school gate
The next day they will ask to walk to the gate alone
You will read a final bedtime story and wipe your last dirty face
They will run to you with arms raised for the very last time.
The thing is, you won’t even know it’s the last time
Until there are no more times. And even then, it will take you a while to realise.
So while you are living in these times, remember there are only so many of them and when they are gone, you will yearn for just one more day of them.
For one last time.

Summer Break Day 6

1st part of the floor was laid down last night and I am loving it already...we still have to grout it once we are finished but it's already making a huge difference.

We went out to my moms this evening for dinner since we have no working appliances in our kitchen right now.We let the kids swim for a bit and then let Caiden ride the 4-wheeler by himself for the first time, he was soo happy that we finally let him do it alone.

Summer Break-Day 5

Something is wrong with this picture....I'm pretty sure Hailey should be up on the pillow and Leo should be at the foot of the bed lol

I decided to wake up early this morning and get a head start on the kitchen floor, we are finally getting rid of the nasty carpet that has been in this kitchen for at least 30 years now. When we moved in we re did every room but the kitchen and we are now finally starting on it!!!!
I guess it was a little too early for me to function well and I very stupidly painted myself into the kitchen...

So I just sat down for an hour and waited for it to dry, definitely not my smartest moment lol.

We were supposed to have softball and baseball practice this evening but they both got rained out and it finally gave us a free evening so we took Grandma Rees out to the Mexican place here in Bellevue for her Birthday. Of course the kids had to tell the server and make Grandma wear the sombrero while we all sang Happy Birthday to her.

Summer Break-Day 3

We had an awesome night of sports tonight.

Haileys game started first at 6, she played in Clyde. We have finally gotten to the age with Caiden that we allow him to stay home and ride his bike up to practice or to games when Hailey has practice or a game on the same night as him(and we only live 2 blocks from the ball field). The girls played so good and have been fighting so hard for each win. The team we beat tonight has not lost a game in 2 years. We were there first loss. We have promised the girls that if they win tomorrow morning also we will take them all out for ice cream :) They are now 3-1 and have really come so far since the first game.
We left from Haileys game at 730 and headed strait back to Bellevue to watch Caidens little league team that started at 7. When we showed up we were down 1-5. So far his team is undefeated so we were a little surprised at the score. This was our last at bat, our last chance to try and win the game, there were 2 outs bases loaded and one of our 12 year olds hit his first home run ever, a grand slam to win the game and save their undefeated record. FNB is now 10-0 and is automatically in the world series game!! All the coaches had to buy ice cream for the team.

Summer Break-Day 2

The kids summer is starting off very busy. With softball and baseball almost every night of the week they are constantly on the go. Caiden has started football camp this week, so that means I get to bring Hailey to work with me while he's at camp. Today she got to help me do payroll. She is such a little helper, always wanting to do something.

Caiden had a great first day at football camp, he even said that he got quit a few compliments from some of the high school coaches. He was pretty happy about that. I'd like to say that he got this shiner from something that involved football or tackling today but instead he decided to try and golf a large kickball with a baseball bat and the bat came strait back up and smacked him in the eye.

Summer Break-Day 1

Bucket Lists

Tonight me and the kids made our bucket lists of what we would like to do this summer. We all 3 have our own,  some are the same but I really wanted them both to think about things they like and that they have always wanted to do. I love some of the things they came up with.

I love Caidens last one.... have the best summer ever 😊:)

2014 Already???

Where have the years gone??? 2 full years have pasted since I have last updated. I was really hoping to keep up so one day I can look back and remember all the milestones my family went through and all the fun things we did with our children while they were growing up...so here's to giving it another try.

Lets see, I am now 30, ugghhh yes I have hit 30 and I wasn't too happy about it either although i have to say I couldn't be happier with the way life has turned out. I'm finding the older I get the more content I become and the more thankful I am for everything that I have in life. Brad and I have celebrated our 8th Anniversary this past February, Caiden turned 11 in January and Hailey will soon be turning 8 next month in July. My kids are both growing up too quick on me. Hailey will be going into 2nd grade and Caiden will start Junior High next year. Just thinking of that makes me sad. I feel like once the elementary age is over then life really picks up and starts to fly by. There will be more sports, more activities, more wanting to be with friends and less wanting to be with family :(

Even though he's getting older he still loves hanging out with us and will still show his soft side at times and want to cuddle and be close to both me and Brad. We couldn't ask for a better son. He is very respectful, thoughtful and for the most part listens to what we say. He has become an amazing athlete, and I'm not just saying that because I'm his mom either lol. He plays baseball, wrestles and his favorite sport is football and it's probably my favorite sport to watch him play. His love for the game just shines. Brad was his coach last year and will be again this year. They both love it and it has been a great bonding experience. Caiden swears that one day we will be watching him play at the Big House for Michigan Football. He is in little league right now and hopefully will make the all-stars team at the end of the season. Brad also coaches his little league team. He really is Caidens biggest fan, always wanting to coach and support him in any sport he decides to do.

Hailey has reached the most loving age so far for her. She loves spending time with me and her dad. Of course she loves going to friends too but she is perfectly content to spend the evening with us. She has really started taking an interest in girly things, dresses, shoes, hair and makeup and loves for me and her to dress alike. I just love the way she loves me and whats to do everything I do and be just like me. It makes me realize though that I really need to be setting a good example for her. She is such a happy little girl, always smiling and just loving life. It makes me soo happy to see that WE have made her this way just by loving her and letting her be a carefree little girl. Hailey has started her 1st year of fast pitch softball this year and so far is loving it. Brad and I both coach her team so our lives are pretty busy at the moment but we wouldn't want it any other way.

Today is the first day of summer break for the kids and my goal this summer is to take at least one picture everyday and at the end of summer to make a photo book. I am planning on having both kids make a bucket list and will try my hardest to get most of them checked off this summer (the reasonable ones at least lol). It's going to be harder this year since I am now working full time outside of the house but I think we will still have plenty of time to have an amazing summer.

Here's this years first and last day of school pictures, they both look so much older in just one school year...
